Consolidating vendor numbers in sap - Thai girl cam skype

Ok, First there was People Soft's aquisition of JDE=2E Then Oracle aquired PS=2E Now Oracle and SAP both want Retek=2E This is just naming a few cases=2E The ERP vendor market is looking strangely like the BI market did about a year and a half ago=2E After the consolidation smoke cleared, BI has basically consolidated down to a few large key vendors=2E It seems to me that the ERP vendor market is headed in the same direction=2E I know that in BI, there was a lot of unrest, and a lack of confidence in the newly merged companies for a long time (still is=2E=2E=2E)=2E I have two questions for the group: Do you think that ERP is heading the direction of BI- consolidating and merging until there are only a few big players? What, in your opinion, does this mean for the ERP market and organizations? Jill Lawson is not even a viable Tier 1 competitor anymore. Several Tier 2 companies, like Best Software ($440MM, 12/2004) and Microsoft Business Solutions ($366MM, 12/2004), make more revenue on an an annual basis than Lawson.

With several Tier 2 companies having been acquired or becoming an acquisition target, there are less vendors to select from in that tier..

According to the Metagroup, the Tier 1 ERP Market is mature and concentrated. For large billion dollar enterprises, there are only 2 vendor choices.

1-702-286-7464 Thanks=2E I should have been more clear, Steve - it's late=2E I was referring in part to the Oracle/PS merger (reletively recent) as well as what Tim said below about a lot of the Tier 2 being aquired or targeted=2E Also, SAP came out recently and said they want to expand their market reach to 75%=2E Tim, interesting that you said "saturation"=2E I'm still on the fence as to wether this consolidation (saturation?

) is a good thing for the market and companies=2E I can see pro's and con's both ways=2E Guys, Thanks=2E I should have been more clear, Steve - it's late=2E I was referring in part to the Oracle/PS merger (reletively recent) as well as what Tim said below about a lot of the Tier 2 being aquired or targeted=2E Also, SAP came out recently and said they want to expand their market reach to 75%=2E Tim, interesting that you said "saturation"=2E I'm still on the fence as to wether this consolidation (saturation?

Jill Actually their are many ERP packages that can play quite well in Tier 1 and do.Especially if they are dealing with companies that are focused on a vertical of expertise.BPCS has many large pharma contracts QAD in Auto and Electronics (Ford, Black and Decker) ROSS in batch and process manufacturing Agilisys Lawson ORION This is to mention just a few of the companies with a global reach capable of dealing with any multinational from both a functional requirement stand point and support. There are actually very few Tier 1 companies that could not have selected alternative solutions to SAP and Oracle. Most Global 1000 companies use at least one other ERP along with SAP or Oracle.15 years ago if you had asked the same question you would have gotten the following answer: Of course there will only be two or three player within the next 5 years.
