We get together or exchange e-mails (I’m a public servant and “colleagues” for me are across Canada).I have also consulted a couple of local practitioners but none is aware of or has started one. One is whether you want a social group that we’d run ourselves or something more in the nature of group therapy moderated or managed by a professional. As I said, I’m “out” about my AD/HD and have become an advocate for disability issues in my workplace, but not everyone is, and gathering with a group of strangers (who share only a neuro condition that predisposes them against secrecy) involves a lot of trust.
Those of you who are interested message me privately and I will put together an e-mail group so we can work out how best to proceed.
Two years too late maybe , But I have been doing some research into what Adult ADHD support groups are free and exist in Ottawa, ON.
I also havn’t found much that isn’t designed for parents of children with ADD/ ADHD.
I am looking to start a support group where we can talk about our struggles and how we relate and coping strategies.

I am also in Ottawa and have checked this and other sites in search of a local support group.Unlike many of us, I am “out” at work and this has led a few colleagues and some parents who have kids with AD/HD to approach me.
